GARCIA HALE FAMILY

As some of you may have heard, my husband, Nolo, fell from a tree swing yesterday (the 24th). We think he lost balance and in order to save our daughter from falling, he let go and fell from a high distance. He broke/fractured his c4, c5 and c6 of his spine (in the neck area) and lost some feeling/movement. He also broke his clavicle, fractured a rib and fractured part of his face. We are currently in the hospital and he has had one surgery to remove the broken pieces of his spine and to put in mental plates. He will have another surgery on the back of his neck to finish removing the broken pieces and finish with the screws and plates. The good news is that when they woke him up for a neurological exam this morning, there was intentional movement in his arms and legs. We won’t know the extent until he’s taken of the ventilator after the second surgery (which is scheduled to be later today or tomorrow). Obviously there are lots of unknowns at this point. I don’t know what this means ministry wise or when we are returning to Guatemala (currently in Virginia visiting my family for Christmas). I have no idea how long we can stay here since he’s on a tourist visa, I don’t know if he’ll be able to play his instruments like he was able to before, I don’t know a lot. But I know God will be faithful through this. My sweet loving husband is still alive and moving slightly, and I have that be thankful for.
